Estate Sale Company in Southeast Denver, Serving Centennial and Greenwood Village

When it's time to clear out a parent's home, the estate sale is usually the part families dread most. There's pricing to figure out, buyers to manage, and a house full of things that each carry a memory.

Caring Transitions of Denver Southeast is a locally owned estate sale company led by Anne Kedl and Jennifer Freeman. We run the sale, and we handle everything around it, from sorting the home to donating what's left and getting the house ready for what comes next.

How our estate sales work

Every estate sale starts with a free consultation in the home. We walk through with you, look at what's there, and tell you honestly which approach makes sense: an in-person sale, an online auction, or both.

First, we help your family set aside what stays, so keepsakes don't end up in the sale by mistake. Then our team takes over. We price and stage everything, run the sale, and handle payments.

Families who do this on their own often spend months on it, while taxes and mortgage payments keep coming. Our team can usually finish in a fraction of that time.

In-person estate sale, online auction, or both

An in-person estate sale works well for homes filled with everyday household goods. Items are priced ahead of time, which gives families more certainty on furniture and household pieces.

Online auctions through CT Bids, our exclusive platform, work differently. Bidding starts at $1, and buyers across the country compete instead of negotiating prices down. We typically sell at least 95% of what we list.

Because buyers bid online, no one browses the home. They only come by for a scheduled pickup after the auction ends.

Homes with what we call anchor pieces usually do best online. These include gold jewelry, sterling silver, collectible coins, original art, and antique or mid-century modern furniture.

Here's a real example. A piece of art priced at $250 didn't sell at one of our in-person sales, so we listed it in our next online auction. It sold for $1,000.

Results vary, of course. As Anne says, "You can just never know with an online auction." Still, online auctions reach buyers an in-person sale never would. We've even sold fire trucks through CT Bids.

What happens to items that don't sell

The fear we hear most is that a parent's belongings will end up in a dumpster. That's not how we work.

If an item still has value and won't sell, we donate it so someone else can use it. Then our team clears out the rest of the home, so you don't need a separate company for the last step.

Estate liquidation for executors and attorneys

Estate liquidation for executors and attorneys

Estate attorneys and executors work with us to handle the physical contents of a home during estate settlement. Our estate inventory services give the executor a clear record of everything in the home.

From there, we sell and liquidate the contents, then clear the property. Real estate agents call us too, because an empty, clean home is ready to list sooner.

Why Southeast Denver families choose us

We'll tell you the truth, even when it means less work for us. As Anne puts it, "We don't want to do a project where the client is going to pay more for the estate sale than the estate sale will make."

Anne is a Certified Senior Relocation Specialist, and our team is trained, background-checked, and insured. Caring Transitions has featured our office twice, once for the fire truck sale and once for an auction recognized for its item photography. You can see the kinds of sales we run on CT Bids and EstateSales.org.

Senior communities like Brookdale, Woodland Oaks, MorningStar, Claremont Park, Five Star, and Christian Living Community Campus refer families to us, and we have a 5.0 rating on Google. Read what our clients say.

And the sale is only one part of what we do. Downsizing, packing, the move, and the cleanout can all happen with one team.

Estate sale FAQs

Does my estate have enough to hold a sale?

It depends on what's in the home. Anchor pieces usually do very well online, and homes with mostly everyday items may suit an in-person sale. You'll get an honest answer at the consultation.

How long does the whole process take?

Most full home clearances take two days to two weeks. Timing depends on the size of the home and how quickly your family decides what to keep.

How is an estate sale priced?

Cost depends on the size of the home, what's in it, and which type of sale fits best. We'll walk you through the numbers at your free consultation, before you commit to anything.

Can you sell my parent's furniture?

We can sell unique, antique, and collectible pieces. Furniture from big-box stores usually doesn't sell for much, so if that's most of what's in the home, we'll tell you honestly whether a sale makes sense.
